Crime Scene Investigation ICC: November 18 – 21, 2008 (Tue, - Fri)Fee: $10.00 32 Hours
Intermediate Core Course covering all aspects of crime scene search and techniques, evidence recovery, latent print recovery, securing the crime scene, and some photography techniques. Students will participate in a mock crime scene evidence recovery exercise and present their findings and conclusions of the case.
Spanish for Law Enforcement ICC: October 1 – 3, 2008 (Wed, Thu, Fri)
Fee: $10.00 24 Hours
This course meets the standards set fourth by TCLEOSE for the intermediate core course. Each participant that attends will receive TCLEOSE credit and satisfy this requirement towards their intermediate certification. Students who are fluent in the Spanish Language will be able to “test-out” with the instructor on the first day of class. Please contact the Training Coordinator prior to registering to make arrangements to do so.
Crisis Intervention Training: October 16 – 17, 2008 (Thu, Fri)
Fee: $10.00 16 Hours
This course meets the standards recently set by TCLEOSE for the mandated crisis intervention training. Law enforcement personnel will receive training in areas such as non-physical approach emphasizing communications and active listening techniques the better educated officer is about an issue the better able he/she is able to respond appropriately and professionally. Utilizing these techniques the officer will be better equipped to de-escalate certain situations.
Cultural Diversity / Special Investigative Topics ICC:
September 11 – 12, 2008 (Thu, Fri)
Fee: $10.00 16 Hours
This course is required by TCLEOSE on a four year cycle. Every officer must attend the 3939 to remain in compliance with TCLEOSE.
Cultural Diversity and Special Investigative Topics are courses mandated by TCLEOSE. All officers are required to take the courses once every 4 years. Cultural Diversity will educate the officer to different types of cultures they may encounter. Special Investigative topics are comprised of five sections: child abuse and neglect; family violence; sexual assault; sex offenders; and general legislative changes. Class size is limited to 20 students.
