As the department’s only officer assigned to the Property Room, he is assigned to the detective division and is responsible for all evidence turned into his office. He holds a advanced certification as a property and evidence officer and is the Sergeant at Arms / Board Member with the Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technicians (T.A.P.E.I.T.) http://www.tapeit.net/home.aspx.

Sworn officer since 1990, he has an Master Peace Officer Certification, and has served the department as a member of the S.W.A.T. marksman unit, field training officer, bike patrol officer, and relief patrol supervisor.

Tommie works closely with the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office, Harris County District Attorney’s Office and all County and District Courts as well as the Department of Public Safety Crime Lab.

He also works with other police Departments property rooms to give recommendations on how to better organize their property rooms.
