This course is designed to instruct officers on the tactical application of the AR-15 family patrol rifle as it pertains to Law Enforcement. The class will include the following topics: mind set for the tactical officer, nomenclature, disassembly, assembly, loading, unloading, emergency action drills, low light firing, handgun transition, use of cover, conventional and non-conventional shooting positions, close quarter battle, multiple targets and firing on the move.
Required Equipment: AR-15 type rifle with sling; duty handgun; duty rig; eye and ear protection; 800 rounds of rifle ammo; 3 rifle magazines; 100 rounds of handgun ammo; flashlight. Recommended: ball cap; knee and elbow pads.

This course will emphasize training on traffic stops, felony traffic stops, building clearing, searches, and tactical handgun applications. It will focus on intense situations with more aggressive suspects and higher stress levels.
Required equipment: duty rig, handgun, flashlight, and 100 rounds of handgun ammo.

This is a moderately physically demanding course. Students will cover the legal issues and officer's responsibilities relating to active shooter incidents. Students will learn, develop and practice various active shooter scenarios using various weapons.

Tactical Handgun: August 14, 15, 2008 (Thu, Fri)

This course will consist of advanced handgun techniques and applications in varied situations such as low light, use of flashlight, shoot-no-shoot decision making, moving targets, multiple targets and malfunction clearing. Students will be required to bring their primary handgun, standard duty rig and 3 magazines/speed loaders, ear / eye protection, and a flashlight. This course has limited registration. Each student will need to bring with them 300 rounds of ammunition.

Basic Rappelling: June 2-3, 2008 (Mon, Tue)
This course will introduce the student to a basic understanding of rappelling and provide knowledge of types of knots to be used, how to make a ranger seat, and anchor points. Students will go over equipment that is used, and how to maintain and store their equipment.
