Applicants must possess high school diploma or the equivalent, (college not required but recommended). Possess a Peace Officer license certified by TCLEOSE and able to pass comprehensive written exam, polygraph exam, psychological exam, and fitness test. Applicants will undergo a comprehensive background investigation and drug screen. Salaries are based on a step program and begin at $3265 per month the first year increasing to a maximum $4334 per month after ten years, paid hospitalization, and ten to twenty five paid vacation days depending on tenure. Texas Municipal Retirement System, Disability benefit plan, Longevity pay, Incentive pay for specialized job skills, and TCLEOSE certification pay.
