Testing: Our next Police Officer exam test date is Pending. Testing will be in the Training Room on the second floor of the police department located at 310 Bender Avenue. Applicants should arrive fifteen minutes early and be dressed in athletic attire for the PT test.

Once the applications has been submitted, police applicants are eligible to attend the next testing, even if they did not receive a confirmation email.
Note: Civilian Jailers DO NOT have to test. Once the application has been submitted, the applicant will be contacted regarding the next step.

Lateral for out of state Peace Officers: Peace Officers with a current license from another state are eligible to submit an application and test. Texas does allow out of state Peace Officers to challenge the Texas state-exam without having to complete a Texas academy. More information can be found on the TCOLE out of state officer page.

Minimum requirement to be considered for employment as an entry level Police Officer are as follows:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Must possess a Texas Peace Officers License through T.C.O.L.E. or currently be in an academy, or a Peace Officer in another state. We do not offer an academy, or sponsor cadets at this time.
- Honorably discharged from the Military if you served
- Must pass a comprehensive written exam, physical exam, polygraph exam, psychological exam, medical and drug screening and pass an in-depth background investigation.
- A complete list of all disqualifications is located at the city website under the Entry Level Police Officer job listing. (please pay attention to the criminal, drug and driving history disqualifications as our standards are listed and adhered to.)
If you are TCOLE certified, attending an academy, or a certified out of state Peace Officer, you are welcome to apply. Read the job posting completely including the requirements and disqualifiers. There are no acceptations for either. If you meet the minimum requirements then you may complete and submit your application to the HUMBLE CITY HALL. The police physical fitness test and minimum standards measures endurance and strengths as follows:
All applicants must achieve the department standard for a 2000 meter row on a Concept2 rowing machine.
12 Hour Shifts
Days A/B 0600 - 1800
Nights A/B 1800 - 0600
3 days on / 4 days off
4 days on / 3 days off
Every other weekend off
