Lieutenant Delbert C. Dawes began his career in Law Enforcement in 1986 by attending the University oh Houston Police Academy. After graduation from the police academy he became a reserve police officer for the Humble Police Department in April of 1987. Lieutenant Dawes was employed as a full time Officer on August 19, 1989. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in January of 2003, and to the rank of Lieutenant on November 16, 2010.

During his service as a patrol officer Lieutenant Dawes served two years as a member of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force where he was sworn in as a Deputy United States Marshal from 1996 to 1998. Lieutenant Dawes carries a Master Peace Officer's certification. He has served the department as a Field Training Officer, Police Instructor and Accident Reconstructions. In addition, Lieutenant Dawes is a 2004 graduate of the Leadership Command College at Sam Houston State University.
