Sergeant Delbert C. Dawes began his career in Law Enforcement in 1986 by attending the University oh Houston Police Academy. After graduation from the police academy he became a reserve police officer for the Humble Police Department in April of 1987. Sergeant Dawes was employed as a full time Officer on August 19, 1989. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in January of 2003.

During his service as a patrol officer Sergeant Dawes served two years as a member of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force where he was sworn in as a Deputy United States Marshal from 1996 to 1998. Sergeant Dawes carries a Master Peace Officer's certification. He has served the department as a Field Training Officer, Police Instructor and Accident Reconstructions. In addition, Sergeant Dawes is a 2004 graduate of the Leadership Command College at Sam Houston State University.
