Citizens Police Academy

Learn more about the law, judicial system, crime scenes, and more! This is an informative twelve week class designed to inform the community about the philosophy and operations of the Humble Police Department. Applications are now being accepted for the next class that will begin August 26, 2008.

Rape Aggression Defense (RAD for women)

This is a self defense class that all females should take. These classes are offered to all females from ages 13 and up, regardless of physical condition. For information on the next class, and to view pictures of the last class, click here.

Child ID Cards

ID finger print cards can be made for your child free of charge. The cards are produced so that the parent can have important information readily available in an emergency. The information used to produce the card is only used for the card and is not entered into a database.

National Night Out

This is a night that is set nationwide, and designed to: 1) heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; 2) generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts;  3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police- community partnerships; and 4)  send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. National Night Out has been a huge success, thanks to all who participated. Vacation Watch

Let the Humble Police Department watch your home while you are on vacation. An officer from each shift will check the exterior of your residence each day while you are enjoying your vacation. To take advantage of this free service you will need to come into the Humble Police Department located at 310 Bender Ave, and fill out the required paperwork. Forms are available in the dispatch center 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Operation H.E.A.T. (Help End Auto Theft)

H.E.A.T. is a voluntary statewide decal program designed to reduce car thefts.  Vehicle owners not normally using their vehicles between 1:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m. sign an agreement allowing peace officers to verify ownership if they observe the vehicle being used during H.E.A.T. hours.  Contact the Community Services Coordinator to register your vehicle. Click here for additional information and to register online.

Tour the Humble Police Department

Are you interested in a tour of the Humble Police Department? Tours are available by appointment only, seven days a week. If you tour the buildings, your group will get to see the dispatch center, the court room, the jail area, and much more. This is a great experience for kids of all ages and an excellent field trip. Tours usually last approximately 45 minutes.

CARE Program

(CARE) Caring About Residents Everywhere meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 12 noon till 1 p.m. at different apartment communities. The program is designed to develop a working relationship between the managers, assistant managers and the Humble Police Department in an effort to reduce crime in the multi-family dwelling communities throughout the City of Humble. The managers who attend these meeting are given crime stats for the apartment in which they manage, as well as crime prevention materials. Different topics are discussed each month. The next meeting will be held May 21, 2008 at The Colony of Humble Apartments located at 831 Wilson Road from 12 noon till 1:00 p.m.

RAD for KIDS

This is a Kids Empowerment Course, for boys and girls ages 5 to 12!

This program is open to boys and girls kindergarten through 6th grade (ages 5 to 12) and covers virtually all aspects of child safety awareness.  This 10 hour program will keep the child active in learning about safety and conflict avoidance.  At the conclusion of this training, each child will be able to demonstrate their learned abilities in simulated confrontations to include a simulated call to 911 to report their emergency. 
r.a.d.KIDS Curriculum topics include:
Home, School, Gun, Vehicle, and Bicycle Safety

  • Bullying and Out and About Safety
  • Realistic Defense Against Abduction
  • Good-Bad-Uncomfortable Touch and more.
  • Stranger Tricks (including Physical Defense against Abduction)
  • Self-realization of personal power

The Humble Police Departments Community Service Division will be hosting a RAD for KIDS class at the Humble Area Activity Center located at 1401 South Houston Ave. The class is only $25.00 per child; please make all checks to RAD Texas, to be paid on the first night of class.To sign up and assure your child a seat in the class, contact Officer David Meyers at 281-319-9763. The class limit is 26; the child must be pre-registered to attend the classes the child must attend all three sessions, and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.   
The dates for the next classes are:

Sunday, October 5 (2-6:00 pm)
