It is an honor and privilege for me to serve as the chief of Police for this great city.  My mission is that our police department provides the citizens of Humble with a high quality of community living, which consists of protecting life and property; providing  order, tranquility, and public peace; preventing crime and apprehending criminals.

In order to complete the above, it is imperative that we hire only the “best of the best” police officers at the Humble Police Department.

I am pleased to convey that we have  maintained the highest standards of recruiting and hiring procedures, guaranteeing that the individuals are no less than the most knowledgeable and  professional caliber of peace officers.

My interest in law enforcement began at an early age, and five years after my release from the Marine Corps, I was sworn in as a Texas Peace officer with my first position being with Harris County Constable’s Department.

In 1979, I was hired by the Humble Police Department as a patrol officer and several years later, was promoted to Patrol Sergeant.  I also had the opportunity to work the detective division and ultimately promoted to Lieutenant.

Formal education in the law enforcement arena has included the essential training, but also specialty schools and academies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and the Law Enforcement Management Institute at Sam Houston State University.

Some of the professional organizations that I am a current member of are Texas Police Chief’s Association, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Arabia Shrine Temple, and the International Association of Police Chiefs.

As always, the Humble Police Department is committed to maintaining and improving a system of police service that is responsible to the citizens of this community.

It is my expectation that with the appropriate technology and continuous training, we will continue to provide the citizens of Humble with the highest standards and service.
