Sergeant Perry Burkeen started his police career in 1993 assigned to the patrol Bureau. In 2002 he was reassigned and he became the department’s Community Service Officer and DARE Officer. In 2005 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Patrol Bureau, and is currently assigned to Night Shift.

Sergeant Burkeen is also responsible for the Bike Patrol Unit and was one of the original founding members of the unit. He holds a Master Peace Officer Certification and is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas. He is a certified Police Instructor and maintains many other certificates such as Intoxilyzer Operator, Crime Prevention Inspector, Field Training Officer, SWAT certified, and Police Ethics Trainer.

Sergeant Burkeen is currently the Sergeant at Arms for the Humble Police Association, current President of the City of Humble Beautification Committee, member of the City of Humble Annual Christmas Parade Committee, a member of the Texas Municipal Police Association, and also serves on the Lonestar College Foundation Board of Directors.
